NO ROMPAS MI ILUSION
A multidisciplinary chicana artist based out of Los Angeles. originally from the isolated deserts of the Inland Empire she grew up in a household of mixed generations. she often moved around in her youth but ended up living with her grandma most of her life. There she lived with many of her extended family members including cousins, aunts, and uncles, etc. This upbringing -or better worded, the chaos- is what really shaped her identity and informed her path as an artist. Like most artists, she used her art as a form of disassociation and escapism from reality. She often wrote, recorded, and documented her life whether through photographs or diary entries to help her navigate and cope with the turmoil in her childhood. She finds that impulse still in her today as a photographer and artist. The need to record. The need to make sure she remembers. She takes pride as her role as an archivist through photography. A vulnerable photographer - her work is part documentary part cinematic.
She graduated from Art Center College of Design with a degree in Photography + Imagery.
She approaches her work like digital alchemy - always finding the balance of mechanistic technique and ethereal creations.
